About NZskate.com

NZskate.com was started to provide a hub for the whole New Zealand skate community to keep in touch with each other, the latest going on and news. We pride ourselves on not only letting the top guys have a say but we also encourage the kid down the road skating the local school, the kid who just got his board for his birthday, the guy who still skates but not as much as real life has taken over to share their thoughts and videos too. NZskate.com is a place for all New Zealand skateboarding.

When you log on you will see there is a section for videos of the latest New Zealand and over seas skateboarding. A news section providing all the latest updates and competition info and a twitter feed to the rest of the skateboarding world. One central place to keep up with everything in the skateboarding universe.

I personally have been skateboarding since Christmas 1998 when I was given my first complete. I skated that board until it was referred to as driftwood by a good friend of mine and then I upgraded! I have worked in skateboard retail shops for 10 years and generally enjoyed it. Especially when the groms come in frothing on the new boards. Reminds me of how I used to be! Skateboarding has taken me to many places, the hospital numerous times unfortunately but bones heal so its not a big deal! America, Canada, Japan and no matter where you go if you see another skateboarder you have a friend. I have seen it change from a hated sport to now, where we have the local communities building us skateparks all around the place with children of all ages encouraged to participate.

Without skateboarding I would be lost. I don’t really know what joe average does on the weekend. Watches rugby possibly? Me, I go skateboarding with my friends and have fun doing it.

Thank you skateboarding!
